No Recovery, No Fee

Your business may have unclaimed money. We find it and get it back.

State governments hold billions in unclaimed property belonging to businesses that don't know it exists. DueBack searches public records, does the paperwork, and recovers what's yours. You pay nothing unless we succeed.

Three steps. You do almost nothing.
We handle the tedious research, documentation, and filing process. You review what we find and approve the claim.
1

We Search Public Records

We search state unclaimed property databases, class-action settlement registries, and public records for money your business may be owed. Every dollar we find comes from verified, public government sources.

2

We Prepare Your Claim

When we find a match, we gather the evidence, prepare the documentation, and draft a complete claim packet. We give you everything you need, organized and ready — along with clear instructions on what to file.

3

You Review, We Recover

You review the claim and approve filing. Once the state releases your funds, you keep the recovery minus a small fee capped by state law. If nothing comes back, you owe us nothing.

Built for businesses that don't have time for this.
Unclaimed property recovery is tedious, fragmented, and easy to ignore. That's exactly why the money sits there. We make it simple.

Contingency Only

We charge a fee only when you actually receive money back. No upfront costs, no retainers, no hidden charges. If we don't recover anything, you pay zero.

We Do the Paperwork

State claim processes are bureaucratic and time-consuming. We handle the documentation, evidence gathering, and form preparation so you don't have to.

Public Data, Verified Sources

Every opportunity we identify comes from official state databases and public records. We provide the source and evidence for everything we find — no guesswork.

You Stay in Control

We never file anything without your explicit approval. You review every claim, you make every decision. We research and prepare — you authorize.

Business-Focused

Most recovery services target consumers. We focus exclusively on businesses — LLCs, corporations, partnerships — where the amounts are larger and the paperwork is more complex.

Fee Capped by Law

Our fee never exceeds the maximum allowed by your state's unclaimed property statute. In California, that's 10%. In many states, it's similar. The cap protects you.

You Can Always Claim for Free

We believe in transparency. You have the right to search for and claim your unclaimed property directly from the state — at no cost — without using our services or any third party.

In California, visit claimit.ca.gov. For other states, visit unclaimed.org to find your state's official search page.

What DueBack provides is the research, documentation, and filing work that most businesses don't have time for — especially when there are multiple claims across multiple states.

This disclosure is required by California Civil Code of Procedure §1582 and reflects our commitment to honest, straightforward business practices. DueBack is not affiliated with any government agency.
What you're probably wondering.
How did you find my business?
We search public state unclaimed property databases — the same records anyone can access on their state controller or treasurer's website. When we find a record matching your business name and address, we reach out.
What is unclaimed property?
When a bank, insurance company, business, or government agency owes you money and can't reach you, they're required to turn those funds over to the state. This includes uncashed checks, forgotten bank accounts, insurance proceeds, security deposits, overpayments, and more. The state holds it until you claim it.
Is this a scam?
No. We understand the skepticism — which is why we operate with full transparency. We use only public government data, we disclose that you can claim for free, and we never ask for payment upfront. Our fee is contingent on actual recovery, and it's capped by state law. We encourage you to verify everything we tell you directly on your state's official unclaimed property website.
What does DueBack charge?
Our fee is a percentage of the recovered amount, never exceeding the maximum allowed by state law (typically 10% in California). If we don't recover anything, you pay nothing. There are no upfront fees, no retainers, and no hidden costs.
Why not just claim it myself?
You absolutely can, and we support that choice. Many businesses don't because the process involves researching multiple databases, gathering corporate documentation (articles of incorporation, EIN verification, proof of succession for name changes), completing state-specific forms, and following up. For businesses with multiple claims across multiple states, it can take significant time. That's the work we do for you.
Is DueBack a law firm?
No. DueBack is a recovery services company operated by Jared C Lucas LLC. We do not provide legal advice. If your situation requires legal counsel, we'll let you know.
How long does recovery take?
It depends on the state and the type of property. Simple unclaimed property claims in California typically take 90 to 180 days after filing. We keep you updated throughout the process.
Do I have to sign anything?
Yes. Before we do any work on your behalf, we'll ask you to sign a written agreement that clearly states our fee, your rights, and the fact that you can claim for free on your own. This agreement is required by state law and protects both of us.
